Gracia Haby & Louise Jennison
Prattle, scoop, trembling: a flutter of Australian birds
2017
Indigo press, perfect bound, 106 page artists' book
Edition of 100

Thank-you for supporting our 19-day pozible campaign with your preordered copies of Prattle, scoop, trembling: a flutter of Australian birds, your feathered donations, and general gladness.

We couldn’t have done this without you. Your response, so heartfelt. And sometimes, why, sometimes it even came as a limerick.

Gracia and Louise are best
At wingspan, feather & nest
We’re so happy to see
A new book from the tree
Of their beautiful bird-loving quest.
—Robyn Archer

We have since sent the book to print, with a final sweep and beak check. And until we have a proof to share with you, and a book, come March, here is a digital mock-up of the five winged inserts we plan to hand-cut. One per edition, there will be twenty of each bird orchestra printed (in reference to An index box of Australian birds still fluttering).

While the preorder campaign (to assist with the printing costs) has folded its wings, it is possible to reserve a copy through our online store.

Beneath the beauty of the Leonard French glass patchwork, we will be releasing the book from our stall at this year’s NGV Melbourne Art Book Fair, where you are welcome to pick up your preordered copies from us (from Friday the 17th to Sunday the 19th of March, 2017).

Louise and I will be talking about the original artists’ book, Prattle, scoop, trembling: a flutter of Australian birds (2016), at Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery from 1pm this Sunday. Penny Byrne and Stu James will also be discussing their works within the current exhibition, Birds: Flight paths in Australian art. We hope to see you there.
