Three artists' books, being hand-folded, -collated, and -glued

I’m a grey and blue landscape. An assemblage
of disparate scenes.

All the plants and algae, bacteria, invertebrates, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals.

[….] the animals confer that it will happen.

[….] a range of harsh screeches and metallic whistles.

[….] the moment of crisis has come.

The koala climbs right up to the top of the tree and curls into a little ball [….] they [….] burn their paws and claws while climbing down from smouldering trees,

which [….] leave[s] them
unable
to
climb
properly
again.

A collage of words and paper continues to take form.

Between the splicing and the collating, the folding and the gluing, between all of these tiny steps, we’ve also taken pleasure in sharing with you our latest zine, Poephila cincta. Launched recently at the Sticky Institute annual Festival of the Photocopier Zine Fair at the Meat Market, it is available now through our online store.

From seeing our print, Contemplating marble, stucco, velvet, and gilding, (on display as part of Dark Horse: Wild Beasts and Curious Creatures at Art Gallery of Ballarat) alongside Samuel Namunjdja’s magnificent kangaroo, Jacques Christophe Werner and Eugène Giraud’s koala, and an engraving by an unknown artist after George Stubbs to taking part in a Constructing Nesting Boxes event through Conservation Volunteers Bushfire Recovery (Melbourne), the days of late have intertwined by theme and feel and shown us that anyone can help make a difference.

We are, as the echidna knows, all connected. What happens to one, happens to all.

We will be launching these artists’ books, A Hemline of Smoke Through Sky, A Hemline of Smoke Through Forest, and A Hemline of Smoke Through Water, from our stall at the Melbourne Art Book Fair, and hope to see you there.
